1.1 Placing an Order

When you place an order, you are making an offer to purchase goods from us. All orders are subject to acceptance and availability. We will send you an order confirmation email, but this does not constitute acceptance of your order.

1.2 Acceptance

A contract between us is formed when we dispatch your order and send you a dispatch confirmation email. If we are unable to fulfil your order, we will notify you and refund any payment made.

1.3 Pricing

All prices are shown in pounds sterling (£) and include VAT where applicable. We reserve the right to change prices at any time, but changes will not affect orders already placed.

1.4 Pre-Contract Information

In accordance with the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, we provide clear information about the goods, price, delivery charges, and your cancellation rights before you place your order.

2.1 Payment Methods

We accept all major credit and debit cards, PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Klarna, and Clearpay. Klarna and Clearpay allow you to split your payment into interest-free instalments.

2.2 Price Transparency

In accordance with the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024, we do not use drip pricing. The price you see at checkout includes all mandatory charges, including delivery fees where applicable.

2.3 Promotional Pricing

Where we display a discounted price, the “was” price represents the genuine, usual selling price of the product. We do not use fake or misleading reference prices. Any savings claims are substantiated and comply with the ASA CAP Code and CMA guidance on pricing practices.

We dispatch orders within 48 hours (working days) and aim to deliver within 3–7 working days. Delivery is free for orders over £79; orders under £79 are charged at £8.00.

Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, if we fail to deliver your goods within 30 days of purchase (or within the agreed delivery time), you are entitled to a full refund.

4.1 Your Right to Cancel

Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, you have a 14-day cooling-off period from the day you receive your goods to cancel your order without giving a reason. We offer an extended 30-day returns window on most products.

4.2 Faulty Goods

Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, goods must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose, and as described. If your goods are faulty within 30 days, you are entitled to a full refund. After 30 days, you may be entitled to a repair or replacement.

4.3 Refund Timeline

We will process refunds within 14 days of receiving your returned item. Refunds are issued to your original payment method.

4.4 Exceptions

Certain items are excluded from cancellation rights, including perishable goods (live food, frozen food, live plants), opened PVC vivariums, gift cards, and items damaged through misuse.

Our RT01 Smart Habitat Controller comes with a 1-year warranty covering manufacturing defects. Sensors and consumable electronic components have a 6-month warranty. This warranty is provided in addition to, and does not replace, your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

6.1 Promotional Pricing

All promotional pricing and savings claims comply with the ASA CAP Code and CMA guidance. Where we display a “was” price, it represents the genuine selling price at which the product was offered for a sufficient period immediately before the promotion.

6.2 Duration of Promotions

The duration of the “was” price offer will not be shorter than the duration of the discounted offer. We maintain records of all promotional pricing to demonstrate compliance.

6.3 Marketing Consent

We only send marketing emails to customers who have provided prior opt-in consent, in accordance with PECR and UK GDPR. You may withdraw consent at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any marketing email or contacting us directly.

6.4 Reviews & Testimonials

In accordance with the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024, we do not publish, commission, or incentivise fake reviews. We take reasonable steps to verify the authenticity of reviews published on our website.

7.1 Cookies

Our website uses cookies to improve your browsing experience. Strictly necessary cookies are used to enable core functionality such as remembering items in your shopping basket. These do not require consent.

Non-essential cookies, including analytics and advertising cookies, are only placed on your device after you have provided informed consent, in accordance with the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR). 7.3 Your Rights

All electrical products sold by RTHabitat comply with the Electrical Equipment (Safety) Regulations 2016. RT01 units are supplied with UK Type G plugs and are suitable for UK voltage (230V).

If you become aware of any safety issue with a product purchased from us, please contact us immediately. We will take appropriate action, including product recalls where necessary.

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be limited or excluded by law.

Subject to the above, our liability for any loss or damage arising from your use of our website or products is limited to the amount you paid for the product in question.

We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including loss of profit, data, or business opportunity.

All content on our website, including text, images, logos, and product designs, is the property of RTHabitat UK or its licensors and is protected by copyright and trademark law. You may not reproduce, distribute, or use our content without our written permission.

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of our website will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
